Okay, I have been overwhelmed a lot lately, but that isn't why I haven't posted in nearly a month. My computer was having some fairly minor issues, but we wanted to make sure they were taken care of before the warranty ran out, so we took it in a few weeks ago for repair, but it required sending off to somewhere else so it took a long time to get it back. I finally have it back and (mostly) set back up the way it was supposed to be (they either reset it back to factory settings or it isn't actually the same computer) so I should be back to blogging regularly in the next day or two, probably starting with what I've been up to for the past few weeks with no computer!
Oh, and a little confession: something has given lately. I haven't been cooking homecooked meals every night. Since my classes I've been taking at the gym are right about when I "should" be in the kitchen and the extreme-ish couponing (30-50% off my grocery total on average!) I've been doing lately makes it about as cheap to eat more storebought stuff, I've been cheating a couple/few nights a week and not cooking "real" food. *hangs my head in shame*
If you have the freezer space perhaps it would be a good time to try some make and freeze meals, that way all you have to do is take it out of the freezer and heat it up.... :)ReplyDelete
Oh Chris dont hang your head in shame. There is no shame in taking the easier and faster way out sometimes. Your like friggin superwoman with everything you do. :0) What I really want to hear is how your gardening is coming around this year.ReplyDelete

Sometimes it works out better to do that! No shame there - you're still getting food as cheaply as possible, and you're still cooking for your family several nights a week. So do what works better for you right now, and if you have time, do as Lee suggested with freezer meals. But if you don't, don't worry about it! Working out will impact your health in a positive way, so it all balances out to some extent....ReplyDelete
Eating a couple easier meals isn't going to sabotage your health completely...by saving on things in one area you can have cash for others. Which is essential for a family like yours where its stretching a penny five ways sometimes.ReplyDelete
Glad to see you will be back in force soon. I saw this post on FB and clicked with glee looking forward to a great post on April Fools. :)
Oh wow! What a relief; I wasn't expecting the April Fool joke, and was sad when I saw it at first. I'm glad to be a Fool! Glad you're really not leaving!ReplyDelete
Don't feel too guilty - since my injury, we've been buying store-bought bread. It's gratifying to see the kids eat it, because their expressions clearly say "yuck" but they don't want to tell me and make me feel bad.ReplyDelete
Can't wait to be better. Betting you'll be happier with your cooking soon too. Perhaps it's time to start teaching the oldest the basics of food prep!
